Drawing with iPad

It was an apple christmas/new year

I am now an Apple Guy

Daughter, Teresa, gifted us with apple watches for Christmas.  Since I had  a Galaxy 7s (Android, not Apple) phone, my first trek was to get a new Apple 11 iPhone.

At first skeptical (why do I need a talking watch?), after using the device and talking with my tech-savvy son, Randy, I have come not only to like but to rely on the watch.

Getting used to the iPhone

I have always used android phones (since the advent of smartphones), so the iPhone took some getting used.  But the face recognition and other features kind of grow on you after awhile.

I got a purple one because of the light color.  I was always misplacing my black Samsung.

New iPad 7 with Apple Pencil

I have an old iPad Air, but it doesn’t support the apple pencil (can’t use pencil with tablet) or connect to an apple keyboard.  The newest release, the iPad 7, does both.  So now I have something else to waste time on.

There are a lot of drawing apps available for the iPad, most of which charge a minimal fee.  I am starting with Autodesk Sketchbook, which is free.

First Attempts at sketching on iPad

Couldn’t think of a better subject for my first flight with the new medium.  This lovely lady is my one and only great-granddaughter, Alice Wood.  I did this quick sketch for her Dad, my grandson, James.  Today is his birthday and he is out in the desert maneuvering with with Army company.
